In the digital age, we have started spelling it to capture that sudden, electric motion. It isn't just "vaulted" (slow, architectural, stone). Vlted is quick. It is messy. It is human.

You see the runner approach the wooden hurdle. They don’t stop. They don’t go around. They plant one hand on the top rail, swing their legs sideways, and vlt —they are over.

There is a moment in every steeplechase race that separates the contenders from the spectators: the barrier.
