Symbolic — Link Windows 11

From the computer’s perspective, the link is the real file or folder.

First, manually cut/paste the Videos folder from C: to D:. Then, open Terminal as Admin and run: symbolic link windows 11

Unlike a standard shortcut ( .lnk file) that requires an application to understand the redirect, a symlink works at the system level. An app sees the symlink and thinks it’s the actual file or folder. This makes them incredibly useful for developers, cloud storage power users, and anyone looking to free up space on a small system drive. From the computer’s perspective, the link is the
