I went into Heart Throbbing School Days expecting a light, fluffy dating sim full of clichés. And while it definitely delivers on those classic tropes (childhood friend, mysterious transfer student, the school festival date), it has a surprising amount of heart and even a few genuine emotional gut-punches.
