If your Samsung laptop is running fine, do not hunt for BIOS updates. Only update if you have a specific bug listed in the patch notes. The risk of the Samsung updater freezing mid-flash is not worth the minor improvements.

The BIOS update process feels like Samsung’s neglected stepchild. While the firmware itself won’t brick your laptop, the delivery system is a mess. You have to install their entire software suite, pray the updater works, and hope you never need to recover a corrupted BIOS via USB (because you can’t).

Updating the BIOS on a Samsung laptop (Notebook, Galaxy Book, etc.) is a very different experience compared to Dell, Lenovo, or ASUS. While the updates themselves are usually stable, the process to get them is frustratingly outdated.
