1. Definition and Anatomy Anterior Wall Myocardial Infarction is a type of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) caused by acute occlusion of the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) artery . The LAD supplies a large territory: the anterior wall of the left ventricle, the anterior interventricular septum, the apex, and often the anterolateral papillary muscle.
